Time Trials -- Come Hungry!
Hello Tornados!! The weather is looking great for tomorrow -- we are so excited for a fun kick-off to our Tornado season! Please come hungry and support our newest chefs in the Tornado Cafe -- Chef Colin & Chef Phillip!
- What time should I arrive? Swimmers should be on deck by 5:40, ready for warmups! Our 7-10 swimmers will warm up first, followed by the 11+. Time trials will begin promptly at 6 p.m., and first up will be our shrimps (ages 5-6). Note that our shrimps do not participate in warmups, as we want them to save their energy for their inaugural lap -- please cheer them on!!
- Where do swimmers go? Shrimps should report to Coach Leah in the baby pool enclosure; the remaining swimmers can put their stuff on a chair outside the baby pool enclosure. We ask that swimmers stay in this area as much as possible so they are ready for their events.
- What do I bring? Please come prepared with caps and goggles! Each swimmer was given a cap in the welcome pack left in mailboxes before the beginning of the season. If your swimmer didn’t receive one or needs a replacement (sold for $5), please see Michelle or Coach Patrick. Also, have your 7+ swimmers' events written with sharpies on their arms or legs (see youtube video: “How to mark your swimmer’s arm”). If you are new to the team and need help with this, older swimmers will be ready to help when you arrive.
- Will there be food? Grill items, drinks and concessions from our awesome Tornado Cafe will be available for purchase via cash or Venmo! Come hungry and support our new chefs!
- When can I get my team shirt? Team t-shirts will be distributed on the pool deck (please get yours and don’t make me take them home! 😊 ).
RSVPs in SwimTopia for next week’s meets are due now!!!
After tonight, we move right into meet season! We have two meets next week -- please RSVP now if you haven't already!
- Monday -- @ Bridgemill
- Thursday -- HOME!
We realize meets on a school night can be rough, but we hope most of our students have a light week so they can stay until the end, cheer on their team, and enjoy the fun! Please note that league rules require meets on school nights to end by 10 p.m., although we rarely go that late. All meets begin and end with relays, which are the most fun part of a meet! We hope everyone can stay through the relays, but if that is not possible, please help the coaches plan accordingly by indicating this in your RSVP.
Thank you all for the prompt RSVP responses, and we will see you tomorrow!!!
Go Tornados!
Michelle
